FAQ

  • How long does a spray tan last?

How long your spray tan lasts will depend on the shade and aftercare.

    Lighter shade: Around 5 days

    Medium shade: 6-8 days

    Darker shade: 10-12 days

  • What should I do when preparing for a spray tan?

    1. Buff and exfoliate 24 hours before your treatment with particular attention to dry areas such as knees and elbows. This is so the tan doesn’t cling to those areas.
    2. Just like buffing, waxing or shaving 24 hours before your appointment will ensure your pores have time to close to avoid any dark patches.
    3. Moisturise generously in the lead up - especially on elbows, knees and backs of feet. Do not moisturise on the day of your spray tan.
    4. Apply nail polish (clear will do) to your nails to protect them from any discolouration.
  • What to do before a spray tan?

    1. Rinse off any products such as deodorant, oils, moisturisers, perfumes and make up.
    2. Ensure your hair is tied securely with a bobble so that you can receive an even coverage across your body without getting any solution in your hair.
  • What should I wear for a spray tan?

Choose dark and loose clothing made from jersey or cotton materials. It’s important your clothes don’t cling to your freshly applied spray tan.  You should also opt for underwear you don’t mind getting a tanning solution on.

  • How to look after your spray tan

    1. Your first shower after your spray tan should be lukewarm using basic soap based products. Avoid products with oil or other added products.
    2. Use baby powder to reduce sweat. Simply pat under your arms, cleavage, knees and back of legs.
    3. Opt for showers rather than baths.
    4. When toweling blot your skin rather than rub.
    5. Moisturise your skin. Unfortunately not all help maintain a glowing tan so you need to look for options which are citrus free such as cocoa butter, aloe vera and coconut oil.
    6. Keep skin protected with sunscreen lotion when outside. Opt for water-based rather than oil-based products.
    7. Avoid shaving or waxing for at least a week.
    8. Avoid chlorinated water where possible.
