FAQ

  • What is a pedicure?

Originating from the Latin words ‘pedis’, meaning ‘of the foot’, and ‘cura’ meaning ‘care’,  a pedicure is a cosmetic treatment of the feet and toenails. It is a comprehensive procedure, which is suitable for both men and women. A pedicure leaves feet feeling smooth, polished and refreshed.

  • What is included in a pedicure?

A pedicure involves cutting, trimming and shaping your toenails, tending to your cuticles, exfoliating, hydrating and massaging your feet and lower leg. Your toenails can also be painted, if desired, in a colour of your choice for a cosmetic finish.

  • Does a pedicure remove hard skin?

Yes, a pedicure removes dead skin and softens hard skin through exfoliating and moisturising.

  • What does a pedicure do for your feet?

A pedicure soothes and softens skin. In some cases, it can even help your posture as you walk more comfortably on cared-for feet.

  • What is the purpose of a pedicure?

Not only does a pedicure help clean and moisturise your feet,  it provides well needed nail care. A monthly pedicure is advisable, as it's an effective way to detect early signs of corns and fungal infections, among other foot related problems. Pedicures also make you feel more confident when wearing open toed shoes or sandals.

  • Are pedicures painful?

Pedicures are mainly enjoyable, but they can be sometimes painful or ticklish. This depends on the condition of your feet. When calluses are shaved off, you may feel a very light pain.
