Roberto Moura – Founder & Style Director

Artistically trained at Brera Arts Academy in Milano, Roberto Moura is the founder & style director of RMUK. Moving to the UK in 1974, Roberto quickly found himself embedded in the British hairdressing scene partnering in a chain of 5 salons across the North. From styling models at Milan Fashion Week, to creating some of the most memorable hair shows of his time - Roberto has always had passion for providing clients with more than they might expect from their appointment. With a fashion inspired background and a relentless strive for perfect customer service, Roberto has built a brand which continues to be enjoyed by his clients for over 40 years across 3 iconic sites in the city. Although he now takes a more consultancy based role, Roberto still plays a key part in attaining the standards RMUK has become known for, along with his son & successor Massi. In recent times, these standards have included adapting and undoing some of RMUK's practices to make them COVID19 safe and future proof. The salon, since 1995, continues to search for new and innovative ways to adapt to the future and make things extra special (and extra safe!) for their guests.

If you ask Roberto what has kept him going over the years, you'll be met with a string of anecdotes from the Hairdressing Glitterati. From putting on shows with models on Motorcycles in iconic locations - to welcoming Judy Dench & Rihanna to name a few - Roberto is still seen as a trailblazer in the UK hairdressing scene. One of his favourite memories is presenting a show at Salon International, at The Wembley arena organised by Hairdresser’s Journal. The show had a tropical theme, which linked back to his Brazilian heritage. This was a show in front of thousands of hairdressers from around the world, which was in collaboration with Leeds College of Fashion and the West Yorkshire Playhouse, which shows Roberto's passion for local people and young upcoming talent in the creative arts.

Life is a little different for Roberto now, as the head of the Moura family, along with his wife Laura. As a couple, Laura and Roberto enjoy spending time with their extended family (especially granddaughter Olivia) and travelling back to their native Italy to see their relatives. Exotic travel is also a love of Roberto's with trips to Singapore , Hong Kong , Far East and Australia top of his inspirational locations.
