Sienna Miller

Sienna Miller seems to have stepped things up a gear in the beauty stakes. Not only has she adopted heavy brows and vampish red lips as her winter signature style but she’s been experimenting with her trademark blonde hair too. Here, her hair has bright blonde highlights and is pulled back into a tight up-do.

She recently took to the red carpets as a strawberry blonde, despite being spotted hours earlier with her trademark golden hair.

A month after her foray into a different shade of blonde, Sienna’s hair is back a pale honey colour.

Mena Suvari

Mena Suvariis with a long conditioned tresses and a heavy school-girl fringe. This hair cut frames her face, emphasising her best features – her doe eyes and petite nose, whilst the blunt fringe helps to balance the proportions of her face.

Mena Suvari

This shorter style gives sophistication. Elongated bobs are the epitome of chic, and making the cut from long to short does wonders for a girl’s position in the style stakes.

Mena Suvari

This crop has been causing controversy amongst LA’s tastemakers, Mena has gone for the chop for her role in upcoming film, Garden of Eden, an adaptation of an Ernest Hemingway novel. Although a radical departure from her previously wholesome hair styles, this bold cut makes the most of Mena’s super feminine bone structure.

Agyness Deyn

What better way to update your look as the seasons change than a hair make over. Model Agyness Deyn did a quick hair colour change showing off three different shades over just ten days. She kicked off London fashion week with a sleek, peroxide blonde crop.

She then took fashion watchers by surprise by strutting down the catwalk at Giles Deacon with a striking orange dye job.

By the time it was her turn to take to the runway at Armani in Milan, the orange was nowhere to be seen. Replaced with a very sophisticated bitter chocolate brown.

Sarah Jessica Parker

Sarah Jessica Parker is back as Carrie Bradshaw on the set of Sex and the City the movie with her long tousled locks. We’ve enjoyed seeing Carrie’s hair transformations in the past as she’s gone from shoulder length to bobbed and experimented with a myriad of shades of blonde.

Sarah Jessica Parker arrived on set sporting a freshly dyed barnet. The rich chestnut brown shade is a radical hair colour change which makes Sarah Jessica’s locks look lush and healthy.

Celebrity Hair Makeovers

Pick your new look from these trendsetting stars, and start working your new look for 2009. Take your inspiration using our hairstyles guide to find the style that matches your perfect look.

Reese Witherspoon

Reese Witherspoon is a natural dark blonde and has been every shade from caramel to honey and even went brunette for her role in Walk the Line. The natural warm blonde shade pictured here is the colour we have seen her with most frequently, however the actress has had something of a summer makeover.

Reese Witherspoon

Reese has been dying her hair progressively blonder, here her hair has been lightened with streaks of palest almost white blonde giving her a fresh, summer look. With this bob highlighting her heart-shaped face and cute features, it seems like Reese’s perfect hairstyle.

Lily Allen

I loved Lily’s long, raven locks, so I was surprised to see the singer/TV presenter recently emerge from her house with masses of white blonde hair! We have learned to embrace this bold hair makeover, however, as Lily proves it’s important to be fearless when it comes to beauty and experiment with different looks.

Lily Allen

Lily Allen unveils her blonde new hairdo. The singer has opted for a more fashion-led white blonde rather than a warmer honey or caramel blonde and rightfully went for the plunge in one go.

Gwyneth Paltrow

Gwyneth Paltrow suits a host of hairstyles, from a choppy crop to a long, poker-straight mane.

Gwyneth Paltrow

Gwynnie here reveals a fresh new shoulder length hairdo with soft waves and warmer highlights. So sophisticated, she’s looking every inch the Grace Kelly lookalike.

Keeping your hair looking great

By RMUK on November 23rd, 2008

Roberto,s Great Hair Tips

Great looking hairHaircare no longer means just shampoo and conditioner. Roberto Moura shares his secrets on keeping your hair looking great.

Never over do it!

Always apply serum sparingly to prevent a greasy finish, put a small amount in the palm of your hands, rub together and concentrate on the ends first and then, if necessary, smooth your hands near to the root area to remove the stray ‘baby’ hairs. Try not to spend too long on the finishing touches, just a few quick, gentle finger movements to get the style in place and you’re done.

The no effort do!

Achieving a natural-looking curl in your hair is easier than you think. Always remember to use a heat protection mist before using any heated appliance on your hair. Twist small sections of dry hair from the root to the tip, then clamp hot straighteners over the twisted lock, starting at the top and slowly working down to the bottom. Clamp each section for about ten seconds then let the twisted lock cool before letting it go.

Use a Mask!

Regular use of hair conditioning masks can make hair look and feel lustrous. Use at least once a week. Be religious and it will pay dividends, as it will help repair any damage and add masses of shine.

Blow dry!

The foundation to any great style is a serious blow dry to add long-lasting body and lift, especially from the roots. My technique is to dry the hair in the opposite direction to which it usually falls using a round barrel to create movement and a smooth, professional-looking finish. Sectioning the hair will allow you to focus on one area at a time. If you have fine hair, add some instant lift through the top sections by sectioning around the crown and wrapping hair around three to four large Velcro rollers. Blast with warm, then cool air from the dryer and leave to set for a few minutes before releasing.

Choose the right style!

Always opt for the very best cut you can afford as it can take years off you. Choose a cut that suits your face, head shape, age and, most importantly, your lifestyle and one that can be looked after easily.

Add some shine!

To give your hair some extra shine you should always rinse your hair properly when cleansing. I think the reason hair colour lasts in salon is that the hair is shampooed well. A final blast of cold water will also add extra shine. Don’t apply conditioner to the scalp, just keep it to the mid section and ends, rinse thoroughly, and don’t overload your hair with hundreds of styling products, just stick to one that works for you.

Never overdry it!

When styling hair yourself, make sure you rough dry it to about 75 per cent this will make it a lot easier to style and it gives the finished look more volume at the root.

Instant fix!

If you’ve been rushing round and your hair’s gone damp and limp, a great instant fix is to ruffle a little bit of talcum powder through the roots with your fingertips. It works like dry shampoo to soak up any moisture and give instant volume.

More Volume!

Getting volume is not always easy, especially on finer hair. When the hair is wet, spray a light volume gel onto the roots and rub vigorously with your fingers, this confuses the root area and the hair stands up instantly giving you volume. If hair starts to droop during the day just push your fingers gently through it to get that lift again.

No fizz!

Curly hair is completely different from straight hair, its structure and needs are different. Moisture is the key to keeping natural curls healthy. Never brush curls otherwise you’ll end up with frizz. Instead, use your fingers to break up curls and add smoothing products such as gloss wax to give shine and definition.

Hairspray!

Spray hairspray onto your hair brush to avoid static and flyaway hair. You can also spritz it over your hair before using heated appliances for hold and protection.

Best Wishes Roberto
