Pink returns to her pink hair look

By RMUK on April 12th, 2012

Pink has finally returned to her trademark  pink hair
Timed to coincide with launch of her sixth album, Pink debuted her rosy new look while on a family trip over the Easter weekend. The singer looked beautiful, in our first couple of pictures, in her spring colors, with baby Willow wrapped in a beach blanket striped like a colored Easter egg. Worn in a layered crop with sweeping fringe and accessorised with a floral headband, this sugary sweet look was the perfect choice for Easter and offers a softer alternative to some of Pink’s more vibrant shades in the past.

Our Hair Heroes of 2011

By RMUK on December 29th, 2011

Cheryl Cole
She has gone from brunette and bouffant to blonde and sassy but whatever Cheryl Cole does with it, the nation’s women love her hair. The 28-year-old has been voted Britain’s hair icon for 2011 with thousands envious of her thick, full locks.

Jessie J
Best known for her poker straight, ink black bob with a perfect fringe slashed above the eyes , Jessie J brought precision cutting to the forefront of fashion this year with her must-have head-hugging cut in a pristine shade of purest black. This year also saw Jessie experiment with wigs and extensions, showing off a violet bob and silver dip-dye lengths as well as glamorous waves and curls.

Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge
The latest addition to the Royal Family has fast become a firm favourite with the press and public alike thanks to her chic outfits and fabulously blow-dried bouffant.
Making glossy, gorgeous, natural-looking luxury a trend in itself.

Rihanna
A constant style chameleon, Rihanna’s styles this year have ranged from bright red corkscrew curls to a demure blonde for her photoshoot for Vogue magazine

Katy Perry
She was announced as the face (and hair) of ghd in April 2011 and Katy Perry continued to keep everyone talking about her barnet throughout the year with colour changes a-go-go. When Katy Perry dyed her hair pink, it didn’t come as that much of a shock to fans as she has been known to change the colour of her locks quite often. From black and pink to blonde and blue, this year has seen Katy give her pin-up girl style a comic-book colourful twist.

Alexa Chung
Alexa always manages to style her pared-down bob in different ways to keep it looking fresh and new. Straight locks suit the cut of the bob giving a more boyish charm, while gentle waves help soften the style making it a more feminine and vintage look. Alexa has become known as Queen Bee of balyage.
”I just like her tossed off hair. It’s chopped, she lets her natural texture come out, she doesn’t look tortured with blow dryers or straightening irons or anything. She is sexy, obviously very sexy, but in a fresh and kind of tomboy-ish way.”

Lady Gaga
The queen of kook tamed things down a bit in 2011, switching her OTT multi-coloured wigs for high-octane glamour – albeit with a trademark Gaga twist.
Mint green bouffants, silver chignons and pastel pink ponytails all ensured the first lady of pop stayed firmly in the spotlight this year.

Jessie J

By RMUK on July 28th, 2011

A poker straight, ink black bob with a perfect fringe slashed above the eyes, it begs immediate questions. Is it inspired by historic film icon Louise Brooks? Or Uma Therman from Pulp Fiction? Jessie J is ghetto-pop fabulousity. Her hair might just be one component part of this emerging 21st centurysuperstar, but it’s a key one. “To be honest I used to think of it a being a bit Mystic Meg,” chirps in Jessie herself. “People are always coming up to me on the street and asking me if it’s a wig.”

Nicki Minaj

By RMUK on July 28th, 2011

Nicki Minaj is willing to push the boundaries so far out that nobody, Lil Kim, Lady Gaga, Bey, nobody will be able to follow her. As Nicki Minaj sassily questions people trying to steal her style in her popular song, “Saxon,” “Did you copy that, copycat?”

Female musicians of all genres have long been regarded as fashion icons, and today’s music scene is no exception. Lady Gaga, Minaj, Katy Perry and even wild child Ke$ha are inspiring trends tending toward the outrageous — and people are looking for some outrageous in their life, it seems.

“What I love about Nicki Minaj’s style is that she is not afraid to push the envelope,” says Niki Schwan, one of Minaj’s stylists.

“She is less concerned with what people ‘will think’ and more focused on how she is feeling at that moment — how she wants to be seen for that event, rather than dressing for what she thinks people will want to see her in. I love that she has almost encouraged and used hair and makeup as an accessory

Rose Byrne

By RMUK on July 27th, 2011

Ever since she got the fringe cut, Rose Byrne has been gaining confidence in the hair department. Working a beehive style up-do with side-flicked fringe, Rose went 60s chic for a red carpet event and added feline eyes to complete her vintage-vixen look.
