We need to carry out a test to ensure that you have no allergies against the colour; it needs to be carried out 48 hours before we can carry out a colour service. There are two types of reaction that a person could have, 1st there is a sensitivity reaction this is where the scalp becomes very irritated, red, slightly inflamed and could have some small blisters as well as some small scabs. An allergic reaction involves the whole immune system and can be extremely painful, these are some of the symptoms that could occur; Third degree burning, severe swelling to the head down to the point that the skin splits, swollen eyes, non repairable hair loss due to burns or blistering, the rest of your body will also react with some of the above symptoms. We carry out a allergy test on all new clients and clients that have not had colour within six months of their last one. We will not carry out a colour service without carrying out the patch test as we do not wish for anyone to have to go through any of the above especially when it can be so easily avoidable.
