Tone, Shine & Gloss
This technique is known as both demi -permanent and semi-permanent colours. A true Semi-permanent colour washes out of the hair within 16 washes, and leave very little if any trace of it ever being there. However this type of colour is mainly suitable for adding different tones and shine to your hair with no commitment. Demi-permanent colour is a form of permanent colour; it fades naturally blending with your re-growth when growing out. This is great if you want colour but don’t have the time to visit the salon every 6-8 weeks. Usually you may go either two shades lighter or darker as well as your own natural with this type of colour.

Fashion Colour
Fashion colour can be whatever you want it to be, it is a specialist service and is only available on consultation. For example: This can be panels of colour which together create different texture and give the hair a different look. It can also be hidden panels of colour within the hair which are more vibrant; these can then be styled by yourself to come out when on a night out, and be hidden away during your working day.

Colour Change
This is where we change your colour completely and is only available on consultation, this is also to determine the amount of time needed (sometimes can be up to 9 hours). For example to change your hair from Dark to Blonde we would need to cleanse the colour out, we usually need a 2inch re-growth (8 weeks) from the last colour being applied. The product itself is almost like a concentration of oxygen which shrinks the existing colour molecule within the hair allowing a lighter colour to sit on top of it. If you want to go much darker then it’s a bit like painting a wall, first we need to apply an undercoat then we can apply the desired colour. This technique stops the colour from washing out within the first week.

Full Head tint: can be either demi-permanent or permanent depending on your preference. This would be a global application. The demi permanent would fade and grow out much more naturally than the permanent colour. Shoe Shine: This is where we only colour the tips of your hair using a lightening cream.

Patch Testing

We need to carry out a test to ensure that you have no allergies against the colour; it needs to be carried out 48 hours before we can carry out a colour service. There are two types of reaction that a person could have, 1st there is a sensitivity reaction this is where the scalp becomes very irritated, red, slightly inflamed and could have some small blisters as well as some small scabs. An allergic reaction involves the whole immune system and can be extremely painful, these are some of the symptoms that could occur; Third degree burning, severe swelling to the head down to the point that the skin splits, swollen eyes, non repairable hair loss due to burns or blistering, the rest of your body will also react with some of the above symptoms. We carry out a patch test on all new clients and clients that have not had colour within six months of their last one. We will not carry out a colour service without carrying out the patch test as we do not wish for anyone to have to go through any of the above especially when it can be so easily avoidable.
